     Ramesses II was born in c. 1303 and died in July or August 1213 BC. He was better known as Ramesses the Great, was the third pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt. He considered as the most powerful and celebrated and also the greatest pharaoh of the Egyptian Empire. He was called as "the Great Ancestor" by his successors and Egyptians. Ramesses II led several military expeditions into the Levant, reasserting Egyptian control over Canaan. He also led expeditions to the south, into Nubia, commemorated in inscriptions at Beit el-Wali and Gerf Hussein.

     At the age Fourteen, Ramses was agreed as the prince Regent by his father Seti I. He took the throne in his late teens and ruled Egypt from 1279 BC to 1213 BC. Ramses II died at the age 90 or 91. And he celebrated an unprecedented 14 sed festivals, which is held for the first time after thirty years of a pharaoh's reign, and after that, they celebrated these festivals for every three years. On his death, he was buried in a tomb in the Valley of the Kings; later his body was moved to a royal cache where it was discovered in 1881 and is now on display in the Cairo Museum.

10. His father was Pharaoh Sethi I, his mother was Queen Tuya, and his grandfather was Ramses I and he is the guy who named his grandson as Ramses II.

1. In the second year of his Reign, Ramses II deployed a clever strategy to capture the Sherden sea pirates. He posed troops and ships at strategic points on the coast and allowed the pirates to attack their prey. Then he caught them by surprise in a sea battle eventually defeating them decisively and capturing them all.
